Meet Aashika Abraham Chittiappa
From living the life she had always dreamt of seeing it all change direction so quickly to feeling so untethered when she became a mom set her off on the most wonderful journey ever. And by that, she means, finding her best self in her journey through Motherhood.
“While facing my own demons and hacking my way through all the changes, I realized so many of our challenges as mothers are shared. Quite literally hundreds of mom-interviews (from around the world) later, Mamma-Miya is my attempt to help busy moms like myself, untangle the complexities of our daily life, lessen our stress and carve out more time and space for our well-being.”
Get to know Aashika:1. Words I live by… “Watch your thoughts, they become your words. Watch your words, they become your actions. Watch your actions, they become your habits. Watch your habits, they become your character. Watch your character, it becomes your Destiny.” 2. Why do I love to feed my family healthy food? Because they’re my EVERYTHING! 3. A dream I am turning into reality is… My next project came to me in one of my deeper meditations as only 6 words, but the churning has begun (isn’t that always the most exciting part?) – Animals/ Plants/ Humans/ Protection/ Conservation/ Connection. 4. How are you keeping stress at bay (now that the whole family is home)? By establishing healthy boundaries that ensure we all get our own ‘me-time” and then we all get our “family time” together – and more than ever, living in the moment and practicing gratitude for all that is! 5. Is there anything that you wish had been different about life/parenting/motherhood? Not one thing! It’s been my greatest teacher and motivator towards reaching my own authentic Self, especially the hardest parts. The pre and postnatal Depression was my doorway – I couldn’t be more grateful for how it has opened me up. 6. If you could change one thing about your life what would it be and why? No way! It’s my favorite story and every up & down has made me who I am today. I’m only learning to fully accept and love myself though – but that’s the work of a lifetime I guess. 7. What do you think the greatest invention has been during your lifetime? The internet. 8. What are the 3 happiest times in your life?
9. What’s the easiest thing about being a mother? Being loved, so unconditionally. 10. If your life was a reality show, what would it be called Goodmorningggg Sunshine…! 11. What is your dream job? I’m definitely in that zone right now! Maybe someday, President of India?? 12. If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be? I actually thought really hard about this, but it comes down to my Grandpa – he is my idea of a really inspirational, intelligent, ethical, caring & wonderful person. 13. Describe motherhood in just one word! Growth! |
