Most new moms are often confused about what’s the best time to introduce solid foods and which baby cereals to start with? Doctors recommend that breastfeeding moms must until their baby is 6-months-old.
When the time is right, start with a single-grain, iron-fortified baby cereal. But you can also start with 1 or 2 tbsp (tablespoons) of healthy, organic, no-maida cereal mixed with breast milk, formula, or water.
I started my little one on baby cereal recipes flavored with natural fruits and veggies, like carrot, avocado, spinach, etc. My idea was to get my little one a hang of eating the first food (i.e. baby cereal) along with puréed fruits, vegetables, beans, lentils, or yogurt. Ofcourse, I would wait a few days between introducing new foods to make sure she didn’t have an allergic reaction.
Such first foods are ideal and versatile recipes for baby’s small tummies. They are rich in fiber, protein and calcium, also wholesome, easily digested, and an excellent food option if the baby is constipated as its rich in soluble fiber.

It is a myth that giving oats to babies may result in weight loss but it is not true. Oats has the necessary fiber content and rich in protein too. But always consult your pediatrician or follow the 3-day-rule before starting any new food for your baby.
